The Building Blocks for Composition (formerly Composition Plus) workbooks offer step-by-step instruction for developing paragraphs. These illustrated workbooks are replete with graphic organizers and cover such areas as narrowing a topic, matching topic sentences to paragraphs, matching details to topics, and identifying and sticking to the main idea.
At the end of each workbook, students are given the opportunity to practice what they have learned when they are directed to write short compositions in response to specific writing prompts. When your students complete their Building Blocks workbook, they will be prepared to take on the challenge of composition writing.
Creative lessons for writing narrative, descriptive, and persuasive essays work to stimulate imaginative, organized thinking. The lessons use various techniques to help students organize their thinking and provide a wealth of writing practice. These refreshing workbooks act both as supplements to your state's Composition/Writing series and as remedial practice for reluctant writers.
